Hello, my name is Gosia. That’s actually a short version of the full Polish name – Malgorzata – but since almost nobody can pronounce it, and even booking websites reject its length, let’s stay with the short one.
I am from Krakow, a beautiful city in the south of Poland .I arrived in Shanghai October 2012 for my AuPair program to immerse myself in Chinese culture and learn Mandarin.I fell in love with this city on day 1 and it just felt like I belong here, so I stayed and developed my career.
The love for cooking and home – made meals has been in my family for generations, since my great grandparents, grandparents and many other family members were farmers. Every gathering or holiday would be celebrated with mainly self – grown and home –made foods. I would sometimes complain about it, seeing my classmates eating out, however today I am thankful for that as it made me very healthy and conscious about the food I eat.
Today I am living in Shanghai – the city full of international cuisines but Polish food is still missing here. That’s why, since I love making other people happy with my cooking and I think my ancestors would be proud knowing that I brought our tradition to another continent, I decided to put all my effort into this project.
